Alex M. Peshlakai
Master Kinetic Sand Painter
and jewelry designer
Four Corners, New Mexico
Peshlakai’s work in sand painting reveals the ancient stories of his Dinѐ Navaho Tribe from the Anasazi to the present day.
Peshlakai has been awarded several ribbons for his outstanding work with sand paintings from the 8 Northern Tribal Arts and Crafts show. He has been an artist for over 40 years. He is often found selling his art on the Plaza in Santa Fe, NM. The style of sand painting developed by Peshlakai is his own design using the ancient symbols from the Four Corners and the ancient Anasazi Pueblos. His art work is a study of structures of experience and consciousness. This ancient way of story telling becomes a form of transcendental virtual motion, particularly when you hear the artist translate the pictural story in person.
